Poison

Poison
By Allie Marie

Poisonous words choke me.
What I don’t need.
What I don’t want to be,
but it is what I need to breathe.

You wrap me in your strings.
Feed me disrespect.
Claim me innocent,
but I am losing my wings.

I shouldn’t say these things.
Stop me from this.
Don’t let you drown us,
but you say you know the way.
