Break and Unfold
By Allie Marie
Broken are the things I say to you –
misted over, torn with hints of truth.
Forgotten is that we pay in flesh
only to remember traces of what we regret.
I dare you –
unfold your secrets to me
in this twisted faded light.
Be careful as you learn
how to show your scars
and I’ll show you mine.
Remember how silly it was to play pretend
when quickly these things end.
