A Bit of Hypocrisy

A Bit of Hypocrisy

By Allie Marie

I’m tired of being the question.

I want to be the answer.

I want to be seen,

but I have a tendency to run away.

You don’t know what you’re after.

I’m a hypocrisy verging on disaster.

You think there must be more.

I don’t think you really want the truth.

You’ve dreamed up a fantasy –

a beautiful mystery of me.

I’m sorry I’m not what you want.

I’m sorry if I stirred any of those thoughts.

And I know I shouldn’t apologize,

but this is me – an expert at being sorry.
