Four Walls

Four Walls

By Allie Marie

Echoes learn to breathe in these four walls

against the shadows they’re held upon.

This word of gray fades into darkness.

A single window lights this lonely room.

With my  hands around my knees and my back against the cement wall,

I pray for more than comfort to call.

I can hear the echoes breathe.

They remind me of who I used to be.
