Something to Lose

Something to Lose

By Allie Marie
You gave me something to lose.

We drew a sketch of me and you.

Now all that is left is my innocence and fear

born from the shadows as you dissapeared.

Never has the lake felt so lonely.

My toes dip into the cold water.

The creatures of the night buzz in my ear.

Sadness shouldn’t seem so lovely.

You should have told me why

instead you left me to decipher the signs.
